1. PURPOSE STATEMENT
   The learner will be introduced to the nature and scope of tourism as a field for future learning and career development.
2. LEARNING OUTCOMES
   The student will be able to
   2.1 To have a coherent understanding of tourism industry, the constituent sectors and role players.
   2.2 To identify and differentiate between the different types of tourism and tourists.
   2.3 To explain the tourism theories and motivation to travel.
   2.4 To demonstrate a clear insight of demand and supply factors by being able to identify and contextualise these factors.
   2.5 To understand the role of tourism in the economy.
   2.6 To identify and discuss the different types of tourist attractions.
   2.7 To understand the nature and scope of different tourist destinations.

Assessment 1: Test 1 (Summative)
Assessment 1 (Test 1) will cover Learning Outcomes 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 and 2.6

Assessment 2: Test 2 (Summative)
Assessment 2 (Test 2) will cover Learning Outcome 2.
