The director of marketing and communications at a contemporary art museum would like to access technological innovation to bring attention to the museum’s collection and presence in the city. She is hesitant to move forward until she gets full support and approval from the Museum Directors, who tend to have negative views of digitally mediated experiences.

She has tasked your team with the challenge of designing a digital, interactive media installation that showcases some of the artworks held by the museum and speaks of the relevance of music, poetry, prose, and visual art in contemporary workspaces and public environments.

This project involves your investigation into an American art museum of your choice to consider how the evolving role of diverse art forms in the modern world and workplace may be resourced to build public interest in the museum’s collection.

Instructions

Create a three-fold portfolio that includes:

1. Develop an informational overview of virtual experiences.

2. Design a visual model that serves as a storyboard/prototype of one such experience that could be installed in the museum lobby.

3. Write a summary that fully explains each of the three digitally mediated experiences integrated into your model.

Your portfolio should examine how today’s digital forms of visual art, literature, sound, and storytelling can integrate with more traditional forms (art, music, poetry, prose, and visual art) to shape human-centered and culturally rich environments that also evoke emotional engagement from viewership.

Items to include:

· Introduce the portfolio with a paragraph that provides an overview of at least three (3) types of digitally mediated art forms and explain their relevance in the modern world and workplace. Examples may include: Generative AI, NFTs and blockchain art, sound design and digital music production, digital performance art, or interactive digital content.

· Provide samples of how music, poetry, prose, and visual art are curated to be interactive.

· Construct a visual model and diagrams to show a clear and creative representation of your interactive examples.

· Demonstrate effective engagement between interactive processes and audience.

· Compose a written summary (2–3 paragraphs) that reflects the model by:

· Explain design choices and why they were made.

· Analyze the social, emotional, and cognitive impact of the arts in everyday spaces.

· Discuss challenges that may arise when digitizing or translating art for a public setting.

· Predict how the project could influence a workplace or community.
