CRJ 170 Introduction to Corrections : Increase Efficiency and Effectiveness

Institutional Management is very important. Organizational principles such as unity of command and span of control are applied to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Explain why the five features of the mission for incarcerated individuals is so important. In addition to the five features that ensure fair and just treatment, how do prison programs help with institutional management?

 

Describe the current program offerings in prisons and what if any new programs you would recommend to better prepare inmates for release and assist with institutional management. Explain your thoughts on the principle of least eligibility. Do you agree or disagree with the concept? Why or why not?
