This paper will take a different angle to further develop your skills in argument and persuasion.
In this paper, you will work to analyze your own writing in a paper taken from another class Describe the healthcare program or policy outcomes.(argumentative writing is best), looking for examples where you used any of the logical fallacies discussed in class (the PPT & video):
o Hasty Generalization
o Slippery Slope
o Non Sequitur
o False Analogy
o Either/Or
o False Cause
o Bandwagon Appeal
o Ad Hominem Attack
o Red Herring
o Non-Disproof
Steps
1.) First, locate and correctly define your own use of logical fallacies.
2.) Second, revise these fallacies by either:
a. Re-writing your argument in different words
b. Providing new information/statistics
c. Any other changes you can think of!
3.) Third, after the revision, explain why the argument is now more persuasive, better, and clearer after your changes.
