Discuss some aspects of the Bible’s use in Christian Ethics by identifying and analyzing at least one specific way that you observe the Bible used in our contemporary world. You should base your discussion on a careful reading of Hovey chapter 1, including the many challenges discussed. Are there some challenges that seem particularly interesting or important to you based on the example(s) you have chosen? For example, do you see the Bible being used in a legitimate or problematic way? Do you have thoughts on how challenges in how the Bible is used might be addressed? The key to this essay is to develop a strong thesis and defend it. Hint: The your example(s) should be specific and concrete (e.g. a particular billboard, bumper sticker, comment by politician, etc) and not general (e.g. “The Bible is used in preaching”!)
