Egoism (it is always about me and my needs) and Utilitarianism ( the greatest good for the greatest number is always the value) are two of the ethical theories we have studied this semester. These ethical forces are rampant in our society and are already seen in many aspects of American life. The future of health care services will also be affected by these two powerful forces as the “Business” aspect of patient care becomes more a part of the health care system. Briefly explain their meaning in terms of future resources available in health care? What do people expect from their health care providers now?
