(A-10 points) Explain the difference between Proportional Representation and Winner-Take-All, Single-Member District System AND how this discourages third/minor parties? You may use a graph or illustrations to support your explanation. Discuss (B-10 points) 2 OTHER electoral/institutional rules and (C-10 points) 2 non-institutional reasons why we have a two-party system that effectively discourage third/minor parties. In your discussion of questions B and C, it is not enough that you list them out — that’s not what “discussion” means. You have to explain your point and demonstrate how each of them works to the disadvantage of third/minor parties.
