The Nature of Privilege

Response paper, we will:

Examine the realities of stratification and inequality in society by focusing on the structural impact of the privilege and entitlement; associated with the upper classes (or elites) (Links to an external site.).

We want to begin to think about what types of advantages are afforded to those individuals and groups concentrated at the top of our stratified pyramid. Think about the different forms inequality can take when comparing elites to everyone else. Think about the various forms of concentrations elites enjoy

Write a 3-4 page paper considering the nature of stratification(attached below) the vantage points of elites in our society. Consider and critique the privilege and entitlement that accompanies wealth and power. Use the ideas of C. Wright Mills(attached below) consider the impacts of concentrations of power in the US.

Think about the degree to which these concentrations of wealth and power(attached below)or reinforce different types of social harms.
