First, take a minute to consider your own fault lines and your own privileges. (

First, take a minute to consider your own fault lines and your own privileges. (Review pages 11-16 of your textbook for a detailed explanation of these concepts.)
Then, for three days this week, keep a media diary. Make notes about the media you consume and the time you spend doing so. This doesn’t have to be an exact, minute-by-minute detailed record…but do keep track of the various articles, shows, movies, podcasts, etc., you watch, listen to, and read. Think about your media consumption in terms of fault lines and privilege — both from the creator’s perspective and the consumer’s perspective.
Finally, write a one- to two-page reflection. In what ways did you see fault lines and privilege at work? What have you learned from this exercise? What changes will you consider making with regard to your media consumption?
