Most recently the Disaster Management Amendment Bill that was passed in South Africa amended the Disaster Management Act, 2002. The amendments include the following: providing for the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) and the South African Police Service (SAPS) to assist disaster management structures (South Africa, 2015).
