Most people have had at least a passing contact with the American legal system. Whether you have received a traffic ticket, dealt with a divorce or child custody issue, evicted a tenant from property that you own, or just paid your taxes, you have been involved in the legal system.
Share with your classmates an experience that you or a friend has had with the legal system. What type of law was involved (statutes, case law, or both)? What branch of government was involved (executive, legislative, or judicial)? What was the outcome of the matter?
