Paper Topic:
Essentially: How does Milton give agency to Eve in Paradise Lost contrary to how some feminist critics view her portrayal, and in line with how others view her portrayal as well. Using arguments as to why Eve’s portrayal is sexist or misogynistic is also important as you can mention those arguments and attempt to argue against them. (You can use both of these example arguments I am about to give in the paper, but you will have to find the evidence. You will have to directly cite Paradise Lost and secondary sources regarding the arguments to be made, these are just short introductions to the arguments).
Example argument regarding Eve’s agency: Eve is more independent than Adam. For instance, Eve wishes to work separately in the Garden; meanwhile, Adam always wants to be with/around her. Another example argument: Even though some scholars claim Eve to be vain regarding how she is infatuated/intrigued with/by her reflection, it can be argued that she is breaking away from Adam and cares more for herself.
