Pick an African American social movement or a particular leader/participant in a movement to analyze the history, implementation, challenges, successful strategies, internal/external tensions, defining moments, philosophical underpinnings, legacies, and/or approaches to movement making. The paper, 5 to 8 full pages of text, should at least include an introduction, thesis statement, evidence to support the thesis and conclusions. Everyone’s task is to collect information about the movement or individual, describe it/them in detail, and analyze aspects that relate to the trajectory and impact of the movement or individual. The analysis will result in you developing your thesis. This paper should be the result of an extensive examination of peer-reviewed research (only peer-reviewed research articles should be used for the paper). A complete and properly formatted (APA 6th edition) bibliography with at least 10 sources–all must be peer-reviewed research articles. There should not be any newspaper articles, encyclopedias, opinion pieces, documentaries, books, or any other non-peer-reviewed research articles.
