You will be, at some point, in a possession of a set of data which you need to compare, contrast, transform, analyse, pivot, correlate, etc. At which point, you’ll be reaching for a statistics book and trying to remember what standard deviation means…So – my colleague Dr Asaduzzaman hosted a session on statistical analysis using SPSS today, and I have the details below for you. I cannot recommend this strongly enough for a great deep-dive into academic statistical methods. Don’t be put off by ‘advanced’, ‘deep-dive’ or the fact that this is a full afternoon’s work. It is an excellent opportunity for you to expand your repertoire from basic averaging and trendlines in Excel to preparing statistics to an academically-professional standard. Asad is very good at explaining complex topics in simple terms.
