This clip really gets the sublime of technology…It's from the silent film by Sergei Eisenstein's The Old and The New (also known as the General Line) from 1929. It's a silent film. Yet you can see how Eisenstein uses montage to show this concept of high modernism around the sublime of technology. In this case…a rural community is brought a mechanical cream seperator.
