Both websites are spurious correlation generators; some of these are quite funny (i.e., people who drowned after falling out of a fishing boat and marriage rates in Kentucky (r = 0.95); anything involving Nicholas Cage). Pick out two correlations (if you use http://tylervigen.com/discover (Links to an external site.), you can generate your own two correlations). Be sure to write down the variables in each of your correlations.
After youve picked your two correlations, answer the following questions:
Why are these two variables related?
Why is the relationship spurious?
