Task 1 is a 10 minute digitally recorded presentation. How you structure your presentation is up to you but make sure you focus on the following key areas: PART A. Describe the profession you would like to work in and analyse the current employment landscape. For example, if you are wanting to work for the government, describe which department you want to work for. You can be as broad or as specific as you wish. Let’s say you wish to work for the Department of Education, Skills, and Employment, start by researching their website. You might also like to research what the current (if any) job postings are available (Seek.com.au ; LinkedIn Jobs ). PART B. Critique your current professional strengths and weaknesses. For example, in the first topic we discuss the difference between mindsets, heartsets, and skillsets. You may want to use this threshold concept to help frame your discussion. PART C. Describe the person/environment fit. That is, do your strengths and weaknesses suit the chosen profession, or, are there any gaps (i.e., skills you need to focus on to gain employment in the chosen profession).
