Society has a view that corrections or the sentence to corrections will change an individual’s criminal behavior. Unfortunately, many in society have never been inside a prison or jail and do not know how they operate. The perception is these facilities provide programs and services to “change” but the complexities in its operation may make it difficult for individuals to receive basic items to include healthcare, proper food, safety, and so forth. Describe the typical outline of a local prison to include administrators. Describe functions for controlling prisoner behavior from a prison in your state. Explain if such method(s) has improved the operation of the prison or targeted more prisoners from being released.
