We see it in news headlines about major hacks and may receive unfortunate news of security breaches within companies that we count on in various ways. In your professional life as an advanced practice nurse, the essential need for cybersecurity to protect patient data and safeguard patient care is ever present. As a nurse executive, you take on a more central role of not only awareness of cybersecurity procedures but planning for prevention and protection. In particular, consider the significance of creating a culture of cybersecurity and how you would collaborate to do so. In this Assignment, you will present such a plan to your administration. WEEKLY RESOURCES To prepare: Review the Learning Resources on cybersecurity in the healthcare sector. In particular, review the Executive Voices video with Dr. Cory Stephens (Walden, 2025). Reflect on the following scenario: You have been asked to co-chair a cybersecurity planning meeting with your Chief Technology Officer. Your role is to present the key areas for discussion and planning. Review the Assignment requirements for a concept paper to provide to your administrative team in advance of the meeting. Search for additional resources, as needed, to prepare your cybersecurity plan. Keep in mind that you are creating a concept paper and not a comprehensive plan. Consider what details are most important to include. The Assignment In a Word document of 3–4 pages plus title and reference pages, create a Concept Paper for your administrative team that includes the following: Provide a summary of the current and anticipated future threats of cybersecurity in the healthcare sector.
